NATIONAL COUNCIL PASSES ALL BILLS REFERRED TO IT, 10 AUGUST 2017

The House of Review of the Namibian Parliament (National Council) has in terms of Article 75 of the Namibian Constitution convened from 31 July to 10 August 2017 to consider and review bills that were referred to it by the National Assembly. The House concluded its business earlier today (Thursday 10 August 2017) and went into recess until further notice. Below is a summary of the Bills that were referred and passed by the National Council after two weeks of debate;

  1. Whistleblower Protection Bill (Bill No.1 of 2017): Passed without amendments
  2. Lotteries Bill (Bill No.5 of 2017): Passed with amendments
  3. Controlled Wildlife Products and Trade Amendment Bill (Bill No.6 of 2017): Passed without amendments
  4. Namibian Time Bill (Bill 28 of 26): Passed without amendments
  5. Usury Amendment Bill (Bill No.10 of 2017): Passed without amendments
  6. Namibia Revenue Agency Bill (Bill No.11 of 2017): Passed with amendments
  7. Regional Councils Amendment Bill (Bill No.23 of 2016): Passed without amendments
  8. Local Authorities Amendment Bill (Bill No.25 of 2016): Passed with amendments
  9. The One-Stop Border Posts Bill (Bill No.8 of 2017): Passed without amendments
