Public accounts committee probes New Era Corporation, 16 November 2017

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Accounts conducted a public Hearing on the New Era Publications Corporation on Thursday, the 16th November 2017. The Committee reviewed the State-Owned Enterprise’s financial audit report for the year ended 31 march 2014 to the year ended 31 March 2015.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee is mandated to examine, consider and report on the accounts showing the appropriation of the sums granted by parliament to meet public expenditure.

As a State-Owned Enterprise, New Era Publications Corporation stands to be scrutinized by the committee and overall, the enterprise is audited by the Office of the Auditor General.

According to the committee, the enterprise has been audited for five (5) conservative years, 2016 being the last year the enterprise was audited.
