Ghana’s First Deputy Speaker Visits Namibian Parliament

The First Deputy Speaker from the Parliament of Ghana, Hon. Joseph Osei-Wusu, paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Prof. Peter H. Katjavivi earlier today (07 May 2018).

The visiting First Deputy Speaker hosted by the Vice Chairperson of the National Council, Hon. Sibalatani is on a visit to create a platform to interact with leaders of the Namibian Parliament on a number of issues and sharing best practices whilst strengthening democracy and good governance. The visit is focusing among others on:

Consensus building among political parties in Parliament on issues of national importance; the role of leadership in promoting ethical conduct among MPs; and general management of Parliamentary Committees.

Ghana has a unicameral Legislature composed of 275 Members of Parliament from single-member constituencies where the Speaker is deputized by both First and Second Deputy Speakers. The visit ends on 09 May 2018.
