National Assembly launches Strategic Plan

The 2018/2020 National Assembly Strategic Plan was officially launched today (19/09/18), The policy guides the institution’s Performance Management System (PMS) as a part of the broader agenda for change’ initiatives in the same vain, the appraisal of the performance of staff is guided by the Strategic Plan.

Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Prof.Peter Katjavivi who officially launched the insitutinal guidebook outlined some fundamental values that the Strategic National Assembly embodies, some of these being that the policy Instill a sense of professionalism in the minds of staff members in serving Members of Parliament and the public at large while also keeping with the institution’s value of indepedence, integrity, responsiveness, transparency and accountability.

Members and staff of Parliament were urged to aim at making Parliament, one of the most progressive and most vibrant Parliament on the African continent and most importantly strengthening the legislative oversight function of Parliament as the custodian of the general will of the people. “Now that this vital guidebook has been finalised, I urge all of us to do our best in keeping with the requirements of this Strategic Plan,” stressed, Hon. Katjavivi.
