• While a diplomat in Cuba he was awarded a Merit Award “Order of Dr. Martin Luther” on 28 May 1999 the highest merit order of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cuba. It was for his spiritual activities in the church during his diplomatic duties in that country.

• The Most Distinguished Order of Namibia: Fifth Class, was conferred upon him on 26 August 2014 by His Excellency Dr. Hifikepunye Lukas Pohamba, Second President of the Republic of Namibia.
