The two Houses, i.e. National Assembly and National Council, have specific people dealing with the Hansard. They are responsible for the recording, transcribing, editing, publication and distribution of the verbatim Official Reports of the Houses. The mission of Hansard Services is to provide a quality verbatim report of proceedings and provide editorial support to Members of Parliament.
While the National Council has an in-house Hansard Division, the National Assembly outsourced its Hansard function.
The Hansard is the name of the official publication of the verbatim proceedings of a parliamentary body. It is a document that contains the exact same words spoken by Members of Parliament during a parliamentary session. The Parliament of Namibia publishes two separate sets of Hansards, i.e. for the National Assembly and for the National Council.
