Born on 23 January 1938 at Usakos, Erongo Region


Teaching Diploma from the Augustineum Training College in Okahandja 1960; Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science at Temple University in Pennsylvania 1969; Advanced Postgraduate studies in International Relations at Temple University in Pennsylvania 1970 – 1971; Awarded an Honorary Doctor of Law Degree from the University of Namibia, in recognition of his outstanding leadership in the field of foreign policy and diplomacy 1999.
