A Parliamentary delegation from the Budgetary Committee of the Federal German Parliament (Bundestag), including representatives of the Federal Ministry of Defence and the Federal Foreign Office is in Namibia on a working visit. The delegation met with Members from the National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and also pay a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Dr. Theo-Ben Gurirab. During their stay the delegation will visit ongoing projects implemented in the framework of the German Military Equipment Aid Programme for the Namibian Defence in Windhoek, Okahandja and Walvis Bay. Namibia is one of the few African countries benefiting from this assistance. Since 1992, when the programme commenced, a total of 23,2 Million Euro has been spent as a grant.
