National Council Welcomes New Staff

New Staff Members who joined the Directorate of Specialized Services as Parliamentary Clerks

  Story by Pamela Mate

The National Council on Thursday 1 June 2017 welcomed eight staff members to its flock. The new additions join the Directorate of Specialized Services as Parliamentary Clerks, five of which are Chief Parliamentary Clerks.

In an in-house appointment, former Training and Development Officer, Windelinus Kausiona has now taken the post of Chief Parliamentary Clerk. Another familiar face was the Special Assistant to the former Chairperson, Hon. Asser Kapere, Himuvi Mbingeneeko who also joins the National Council as a Chief Parliamentary Clerk. The other colleagues come from various backgrounds, such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Office of the President, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Safety and Security, Khomas Regional Council and GIPF, bringing with them vast knowledge and experience.

Director of General Services, Ms. Lydia Indombo at the introduction of new staff noted that the increase of National Council MPs from 26 to 42 after the Constitutional Amendment of 2014 has necessitated for a larger support staff for MPs to help them in fulfilling their duties, hence the expansion of the human capital at National Council.
